The Ottawa Branch is working with Connected Canadians, a local non-profit that provides technology training and support to seniors, fostering digital literacy skills and reducing isolation and loneliness.
Connected Canadians volunteers and staff provide free one-on-one technology support to seniors over the phone or the internet or by appointment. Frequent requests for help include: setting up email, sending photos by email, texting, videochatting on FaceTime, Skype or Zoom, and the basics of using Facebook, YouTube and browsers. To learn more about the services available, you can visit their website, send an email to [email protected] or call them at (613) 699-7896.
We have also arranged for the Connected Canadians team to offer our members free webinars this fall, with the first one coming in November, and dealing with protecting yourself from scams.
