Join Tamara Guttman, NAFR member and part-time working retiree for a workshop designed to provide federal retirees with a primer on the rules and best practices to seek work and manage the professional part of your retired life, while also protecting your pension.

Tamara had a rewarding career with Global Affairs Canada for over 32 years, serving in a wide range of diplomatic roles at home and abroad, including as Canada’s Ambassador to Hungary, Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and as the department’s Inspector General.  Outside of the foreign service, she has also been a speech writer and advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, and later was Director of Communications for the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada (APEX).​

Since retiring in 2022, Tamara has enjoyed having the flexibility to pursue her passions, including creating her own business, TLG Consulting & Communications, to lend her experience and expertise to clients on leadership development and organizational ethics and effectiveness. She is an accomplished training guide and facilitator, and has built a unique role as an advisor and training specialist on the transition to retirement for federal public servants, in collaboration with the National Association of Federal Retirees and government partners.
