Our homes play an important role in our health, safety and ability to remain independent as we age. But many of the homes we live in were never designed with changing mobility, balance, strength or accessibility needs in mind. Join BuildABLE‘s Co-Owner and Clinical Nurse Specialist Kyla MacGinnis, RN, BScN, MN, alongside fourth-year BScN Community Health Nursing students, for a practical discussion about creating safer, more supportive homes for aging in place.

Together, we’ll explore fall prevention, common hazards within the home, and how thoughtful changes to the built environment can support mobility, independence and everyday quality of life. From simple modifications to accessible renovations and longer-term planning, participants will learn how to identify priorities and make informed decisions about adapting their homes for the years ahead.

The goal isn’t simply to stay at home — it’s to create a home that continues to work for you.
