This free webinar is for members of the Ottawa Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees and their guests and will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022. The purpose of this webinar is to discuss End-of-Life Choices: Your Life; Your Decisions and will be presented by the Ottawa Chapter of Dying with Dignity Canada.

“This presentation by Dying With Dignity Canada (Ottawa Chapter) will be delivered by several speakers sharing their experiences and knowledge of the various End of Life Choices currently available in Canada. You will learn about the current legal framework and procedural requirements for accessing Medical Assistance in Dying and hear the first-hand experience of a parent whose adult daughter chose a MAiD death.”

The presentation will cover:

• End-of-Life Choices (brief summary of those – allowing natural death, VSED, suicide, palliative care, sedation, MAID)

• Location options for dying i.e. home, hospice, hospital and implications

• MAID legislation, eligibility, process, witnessing, provision, planning dying event

• Volunteer’s personal experience with loved one’s MAID death

• Question & Answer
